You Think it's Open...Wait for This

This article is an answer to the text “Software Industry VS Software Society : Who wins in 2020” written by Michael Tiemann. I have to admit that I though that that text was quite difficult to follow and to understand so here’s what I think about the Open-source Movement

Almost everyone in Occident goes on the Internet every day. Some spend a couple of hours on it and others just some minutes, but they still go, they surf through the World Wide Web. Internet is a BIG tool to do whatever you want to do! It is open to everyone and everything, every culture, ever skin color, every religion, every sexual orientation, etc. Internet is always renewed and it's about to go one step forward.

Most of the Internet users agree to say that Internet itself is one of the most open resource of the world and it's about to become even more open! The Open-source movement is about to change all the Internet. Indeed, it is taking the place of the most known software. Did you know that Internet Explorer is about to be replaced by Mozilla Firefox [okay, it is maybe soon to say that, but I am trying to make a point]. But what is the difference between the two? Why people are turning their backs on Internet Explorer to go for Mozilla Firefox?

I will start my answer by saying that I am one of those people, I am now a proud user of Mozilla Firefox and I have no interest in coming back to Internet Explorer. The big difference between the two is the fact that as soon as you realize that there is a problem in Mozilla Firefox as soon as it is repaired. It has been created by the people for the people, it is open to everyone to go and change its proprieties for the best as long as that person knows how to do it. With Internet Explorer, sometimes, the problem can last for a couple of hours. The speed between those two is also a good reason to move from one to the other. Mozilla Firefox is quite faster than Internet Explorer.

I know that there is MANY other open-source software but to be honest, I don’t know many other but I bet that in 5 years from now most of the Internet user will have Mozilla Firefox, Feedreader and many other open-sourced software to guide them into their virtual life!
